When the boat’s tied up, relaxing on land with friends and family is also why we’re here...
Cruising
It's not always a race! Whether you have a power or sail boat, join us for a weekend cruising rendezvous at destinations around southeast Michigan and Ontario or grab a meal to go from the galley before you head out on the water for some fun on your own.
Sailing
GLYC has two Sonar sailboats available for club members use. We encourage, promote and foster sailing for all ages!
Racing
GLYC hosts the 1+1 Regatta (for single- and double-handed racers), the Summer Regatta (a DRYA counter race) and the Fall Series. Our race program includes a full complement of resources, including committee boats and experienced race committee and results personnel.
In-season Social Gatherings
Join your fellow members in our club-sponsored social activities including Saturday night cocktail hours, New Member Appreciation Party, Commodore's Ball, themed parties, and more!
Off-season Social Gatherings
While the boat's tucked away for winter, that doesn’t mean the fun has to end. Keeping in touch at our informal gatherings during the off-season can help pass the time.
Lobster Party
Every year, the club sponsors a Lobster Party. Get to know one another better and partake in some fantastic fresh lobster at one of our club’s signature events.
Shabbat Dinner
Another signature event at GLYC is our Shabbat Dinner. Fantastic food and good times await whether you’re Jewish or not. Everyone is welcome!
